the feathers obviously weigh more--since killing all those birds and then plucking their feathers is 'heavier' than just cutting down a coupla trees.

Technically weight is the downward force acting under gravity (Newtons - not tonnes) - and a tonne of anything should have the same mass and therefore the same force applied under gravity.
Assuming therefore that the feathers are compacted and not blowing all over the place the answer is neither. And that the wood is solid not sawdust and not blowing all over the place too.

A tonne is a tonne irrespective of the substance. A tonne is constant not minding whether feathers or wood.

They weigh the same, the volume is different though. More feathers than wood.

Which is heavier, a pound of feathers or a pound of gold?
Gold is a precious metal, and therefore measured in Troy weight. Feathers are not, and are therefore measured in Avoirdupois.
