we tend to always remember the bad things for much longer than the good ones
its one of the defects of being human

There is a say that catches 9win matches. Hence both dropped catches and catches taken are equally important.All the spectacular catches taken and all the dropped catches which changed the course of the match are equally remembered.

idk y cathes r remembered or not but i would blame no one. u cant blame people in their first mistake. if the feilder takes cathes very rarely,catches very less then the feilding captain is to be blamed!
