That's completely normal. Many vegetables can be seen in the stools if you care to look. The purpose of fiber is to keep your stools large and soft, and that's what the semi-digested vegetables are doing for you. This is how it's supposed to be.

The purpose of the intestines being so long is so that they can absorb the water out of your food. Lettuce is mostly water, so if there is a lot of green lettuce, then maybe get things checked out, your body may not be absorbing the water properly. If it is only a small amount, I wouldn't worry about it.

Try eating corn on the cob, you will notice that you have corn "flakes" in your stool. Your stomach can't break down some fibers so they are expelled into the toilet bowel when you "release".
