My friend owes me some money.... She has owed me it since february. Everytime I ask her for it she says either "im broke" or "i will have to check my account"
Funny thing... She just bought a nintendo Wii! she also decided to take a trip to seattle to go have some fun for a weekend.
We have been friends for almost ten years. Should I write off the money and try to be her friend? I truely feel like I am not a priority to her.

in the bible it says wen you loan someone something just dont expect it back. well i gues you could use this as a sign. but yeah id rather have a good friendship then a bad one because of a loan.

Let her make it her decision. Tell her that you don't think its fair for her to be taking vacations and buying electronics when she owes you money. Her reaction to this statement will tell you if she is worth keeping as a friend. If she gets all huffy and mad blow her off. any real friend would realize at this point that she has been taking advantage of you. Many many friend ships are ended by borrowing. Don't feel like it hasn't happened to others and its not your fault. But find out if she is really a friend.

How much does she owes you? If it's less than $1000, you should forget about it. You know that friendship is more important than money and you'll have been friends for 10 years. Is it worth the 10 years of friendship just for the money she owes you?

depends on the amount of money.
If it's less than around fifty bucks just forget about it.
If it's more than 100 bucks drop her, she ain't your friend any more.
If it's between these two amount look at how you are with her when you're not talking about the money.
If you still go out from time to time and have good times together then forget the money.

I have a strong opinion about "friends" that do not pay debts. They are not your friends if they do not make a concentrated effort to pay you. That tired adage about letting money get in the way of friendship is inaccurate. You didn't let the money get in the way, she did.

Well,this situation really sucks.
The first thing you have to do is to find out if all this years she is taking advantage of you or if she really has been a true friend...The only thing to find this out is by having an open, honest talk with her....she may have an explanation, which I doubt but anyway...

if i were in ur position i would not ask the money. being friends for ten years i will surely not. That girl must come n give the money to u. actually friends won't pay their debts. My suggestion is don't ask the money. When u don't ask the money she will feel guilty n then she will give the money.

hopefully its not too much money. you probably won't ever see it again. that is why I don't lend money to anyone. try not to let it come between you and this friend. and think twice before lending money to anyone else.

you might want to bring up the money. and tell this person you don't appreciate the fact that they haven't payed you back yet. maybe bring up that new wii and her vacation.

I wouldnt forget the money, its not being greedy or anything cause she owes it to you. and also it definetly sounds like she is trying to MAKE you forget it and she is lying to you. conitnue with the hints or if it drags on to long lay down the problem flat-out!
