yeah, globalization is "all countries together", but patriotism is more of just "your country is better" type. I like globalization better, its annoying when all the other kids in the US think you're chinese and that the US is like, the only country in the world...

You can use globalization to improve the economy of your country ... that's patriotic.

in my view if it fights against each other then there will be no peace left over on this land. A human being with patriotism, will never dislike the other country unless otherwise if its just for a name sake. If a person is patriotic, he understands the feeling of that and wont let others to get into any problems. This i will call as globalization of human beings. Globalization should come from the hearts of the people not from the administrators of a country(who will be willing it for personal use).

I think you are confusing patriotism to egocentrism. I believe that the U.S. has great potential and we are always striving for ways to accomodate globalization as citizens (not businesses.) That is patriotic. Egocentrism brings in the light of "U.S. is better than all." This is not the type of pride we should endure in times when globalization is taking place. So, I DO think globalization and egocentrism do contradict each other.

I also think greed and globalization are currently in battle with each other....but that's a whole another story. :)
