It is OK to wash your rabbit. There are pet shampoos that will not make them sick, and warm water is safe.
Rabbits catch cold easily, so you do have to be sure he is nice and warm until he is dry... And it is a pretty rare pet who will tolerate a blow drier. Test it out on him while dry to see if he likes it... Blow him a little now and then so he gets used to it, or even likes it before you blow dry him wet... He will not like anything he associates with a bath.
I used to hold mine in a towel for awhile and feed him treats, and then let him hop down if he got bored... Then pick him up again in the warm towel when he looked like he noticed being cold.
With a rabbit you must be careful of the matted fur on the bottom of the rabbit's feet. They have very thin skin on the bottoms of their feet, and these matted fur blobs are like insoles that protect their tiny foot bones from bruising on the ground. They must remain pretty tight to the foot to work, so do not lossen them when you wash the bunny. Press water through them from the bottom, rather than scrubbing side to side.

Use a wet towel with warm water to help get the mud off him. Make sure the water is warm. If it is not, especially when the weather is cool, you could give your rabbit pneumonia and end up killing it. After you get he mud off, make sure to try your rabbit thoroughly. For something like that if you absolutely have to use a cleaning agent, baby shampoo will do.
In most instances, other than what you describe, a rabbit usally never is given a bath. And notice that I said to use a wet towel and not to submerge your rabbit in water. I don't ever recommend submerging your rabbit in water.
For stains, which are normally caused by urine, you should not bathe or use a shampoo on your rabbit although there are some out there. Wetting a towel with white vinegar and rubbing that just over the area with the stain is the preferred method to use. White vinegar helps break down stains cause by rabbit urine. Rinse with a towel soaked in water, then dry thoroughly. You may need to repeat a couple of times till the stain is out.
Besides the pneumonia aspect, another reason why it is not good to bathe your rabbits is because bathing takes the natural oils out of the fur of the rabbit, which damages the rabbits fur. You will basically never see a person that shows rabbits bathe their rabbits.
Don't be overly concerned about the mud. Rabbits lick themselves clean like cats do. If the mud isn't all that bad the rabbit will probably lick it all off on its own.

If your rabbit has dirty paws, wipe them with a damp cloth and then with a dry one to get the majority of the dirt off, if your rabbit seems distressed when you are doing this leave it be, a little mud never killed anyone.

Of course u can, go to the pet store n they will give you a kind of shampoo. But make sure that that the rabbit should not be wet for much long. Other wise it feels cold and may die also.

I guess people do as they sell rabbit shampoo, but its mostly people that show them, i really would not worry about abit of mud. Rabbits really do not like water and you could make your bunny mad by doing this.
hope you find this a help

You don't normally bathe a bunny. But if he's dirty, sure you can bathe him. I would try to wipe off as much of the mud on him first. If you have to actually bathe him to clean him off, bathe him but be careful. If he gets stressed out, you might want to rethink it. He might hurt himself if he struggles with you while you bathe him.
Nonetheless, you can bathe them if you need to.
Best wishes on getting your bunny clean!

Rabbits should never be bathed. If they are dirty because they're spraying each other with urine, then they need to be spayed/neutered:
