Ask yourself rather why not. They have nothing t gain from peace.
There's money in war and pacifism of the people you govern (just say there are terrorists among us).
Now that the war in Iraq is losing it's journalistic appeal everyone went for global warming.

The conflicts in both regions are subtly different.

Afghanistan is a war on drugs because hospitals in the UK only need 20% pa of the drug commonly known as heroin, implying that with an aging world population it could be a good plan to stockpile should the climate continue to change and the crop fail at some point in the future.

The security cost would be enormous however a world without drugs is even more terrifying than a world without oil.

Iraq is a war on (enter your soundbite here) sell your car if you are unhappy.

The manner of running these operations, they are not wars, has brought about this condemnation.
This heavy handed, indescriminate and prolonged firing and behavoir of american troops is the cause of loosing the hearts and minds of the local people.
Please look at what has caused the islamic peoples of many nations to become ' Militant'.
This goes back to 1920, see what Lawrence tried to tell the League of nations.
Look at the US interference in the UN in 1945-7 when we were trying to carry out the UN mandate in Palestine.
Look at why E. Bevin had to withdraw from this mandate, and look at the consequent chaos, and injustice resulting which was, and still is, supported by the USA .
This problem is too difficult for short-sighted politicians to grasp. It is also politically inconvenient to acknowledge.

In reality its easy to say the whole world is against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan but behind the scenes there are several countries that are very happy and want the current situation to remain.

The reason would be because too many people have died and suffered for no real change.
People from Iraq and Afganistan have been blown up because of some jumped up little Texan Redneck ruling the US and his pet pooch B-liar.
I was against the was from day one, they have played into the "terrorists" hands. Retalliation is never a good option.

If the reason of the invasion was to remove a tyrant, then why not invade Zimbabwe and remove Mugabe??

I am not happy with the USA staying in Iraq, although the idea was a good one to begin with, and that is why they all hate it. The reason is that the average Middle Eastern despot - who steals his country's oil to lead a great life by paying off UN bureaucrats and French officials - was put in fear of losing control of his country, if he shamelessly raped and murdered his own people.
This was a great thing that was done - for despots to fear justice and for Europeans who presided over the genocide in the old Yugoslavia to fear that their evil friends could not be protected by them anymore, so that they could not collect bribe and blood money anymore.
Sadly, Buch blew it by trying put democracy into a world that has never known it. These people fear the USA.

the war in afgahishtan was never questioned. no one ever said anything bad about us invading there.

the war in iraq is a different story. they are against it becuase they didnt think we should have gone into iraq. and in hindsight we shouldnt have, we basically said to the world we are going to do what we want regardless of what you think. and that is wrong.

this presidency misled the american people about iraq, and as dumb and sheep like as the many people who re-elected bush were, they realize this now.

Most countries support wars until the casualties start. Here in Britain at the time of the commencement of the Iraqui war we were behind our forces, now we seem to all think its wrong. Whatever the rights or wrongs of the reasoning behind the war we should all support our forces, they fight for the greater good. Just like the terrorists who come here to murder and cause chaos, for whatever reason they come into our country and bomb and maim innocent people, no doubt they are doing it with the backing of most of their countrymen.

The whole world? That is a bit of an exageration.

War is always controversial and in my opinion should only be used as a last resort because nobody deserves to die, but hundreds of thousands die in a war.
