beats me..why overspend for some fancy coffee that tastes lousy anyway...

Because they think it's the Gucci of coffee. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy drinking Starbucks once in a while, but there are some people that are just plain addicted. Or there are some that simply want to think of themselves as "high class" just by being seen with the Starbucks cups.

I personally like the friendly environment and people. Its a nice place to hang out and catch up on things over a cup of coffee.
Plus, it doesnt hurt that their frappaccinos are good :)

People thrive on coffee and caffine in general, so that works to their favor. Also, they sell a variety of products, and you can eat inside in a cafe-like environment. Plus, it's considered socially "cool". Finally, people like how it tastes. Personally, I don't drink coffee or coffee-like things, so I'm against it.

I'm not. It's ridiculous to have to get a bank loan to buy a measly cup of dressed-up coffee.
I make my own coffee and scantily dress it with sugar.

starbucks is actually good, especially the frappuccinos, and i just love the vibe it gives off when you enter it, they play this jazz music and it's just comforting inside with the smell of coffee (well for me at least)
