Guys, I realize that I could easily avoid reading idiotic posts like theirs, but Doris' recent posts regarding Matt Sheppard have done it in for me. I'm gathering support for appointing a moderator for the GLBT forum to get rid of trolls and hatemongers on a more immediate and long-lasting basis, and try to restore that sense of community back to this forum.

Here's all you have to do:
Click the link- http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/abuse/

Click on "Use this form if you are unsure where to direct your abuse report" near the bottom.

Fill out the info, and hit send. Affirmative action will work, folks. All it needs is a little effort on your part.

As I like to say, apathy breeds intolerance-but it also cannot breed tolerance.

Fake Doris-Thanx for the thoughts. I know you mean well, but it's time for Yahoo to start taking some responsibility for its members-there's too much abuse of the system for people to not do anything.

Ben Dan-If that's the case, we could have a fat harassment suit in the works...

Of course your right...your right....your right!
But most of us will forget about Dr Doris by morning.
What would be nice....just thinking out loud...what would be nice would be a forum within a forum. A place all the "real" users could go and be rid of the Trolls. Maybe after a month or two a vote by the other members could be cast to accept or reject an applicant. I dunno.
A place without trolls...that would be like a world without war...poverty...want.
Any who, thanks for you opinion regarding Dr Doris and her brethren Trolls. It's good to know that late at night, other "real" community members have insomnia too.
Peace be with you...Vinny.
(I really mean that)

Well I think it is about time that Yahoo, Inc. got the message lound and clear. The San Jose Mercury News would just love to see some to the filth that gets published by the likes of kkkjewhaterxxx, Dr Doris, and others. I think the California State Attorney General has a stake in this too as the violence that is being suggested could be considered a Hate Crime. And just maybe our brothers and sisters in the Silcone valley could do a little protest in front of the Yahoo, inc offices and get some press.

Of course we could also boycott the advertisers and write them letters to inform the of Yahoo's inability to stop this type of harassment. Of course reminding them that 10-12% of their market is made up of the gay community and as many as 25-30% is bi and or gay/bi friendly. And for one week say target a specific company and nation wide just not but from that company. SEE??? Follow the $$$$$$$ baby!!!!

Then of course is the very direct method, send a lawyer to their offices with an ultimatium. Make it stop or else. That would go over like having the CEO whizin on an electric fence. Ouch just thinkin about that one hurts.

There are options. All Some Or None? Which are we going to do??

Wasn't there a suggestion about locking out abusive users by their IP address? No one in that house could post any more, but...hey.

What I like to do, because I am obsessive/compulsive, is:
When I find a hateful message, I click on the avatar. I check each answer they've given to see if it is bad. If it is bad, I flag it as abuse. Then I go to all their questions. If any are bad, I flag it as abuse.

Then I feel much better. My "To Do" list is done.

They wont do anything. Yahoo has the worst customer service I have ever seen and yahoo answers is the worst of the worst. It would be very easy to do ip bans and the like but they wont do it. However they will consitently dock me for answers that are not a violation of community guidelines just because some christian doesnt like what I have to say.

Hey, I saw your post and smiled. Because I wish there were moderators in this forum. I think it would give customer service a break from us all and things would get done/corrected faster. As there are quite a few responses & questions that do not need to be in here. I've even said I would volunteer to be a moderator if it would help... But I don't think yahoo wants to give up their power to any of us, as it seems it's easier to just ignore us. Good luck & keep fighting the good fight, while trying to educate! :)

Yes It's time to silence the voices of dissent! It isn't right just to ignore people, but to punish them for not accepting our viewpoints! Free speech only means that speech should be kind and agreeable. There are no absolute rights! Hate speech is not a right!

Oh, Dr. Doris is a gay man inflaming hatred of people of faith within the gay community. And he's doing a great job, don't you think?
