If you don’t mind the subtitles a lot of Asian horror movies. They tend to get away with a little more than we do in the states and aren’t afraid to try new and sometimes unusual things. I myself am a big horror movie fan and well it really just depends on what scares you. Some classics to consider though are “People Under the Stairs”; “ Evil Dead 1 & 2” flowed by “Army of Darkness” though I don’t think those are really scary but kinda funny. You might also want to look into the films form the After Dark Horror Fest http://www.horrorfestonline.com/ and some of the Masters of Horror Collection, http://www.mastersofhorror.net/. Oh and the films of George A. Romero.

This is easy, "House of 1000 Corpses". By Rob Zombie, with his music. I played it last Halloween with the surround sound cranked. It was great!
PS as a double feature watch "Devil's Rejects" after! It's another Rob Zombie flick.

The original Japanese version of "The Ring";
"Evil Dead 1";
"Deep Red" from the Italian director Dario Argenta..you may not be able to put the music out of your head for a while though..very creepy;
The Japanese version of "The Grudge";
John Carpenter's "The Thing" is pretty good going;
"Magic" starring a very young Anthony Hopkins and his ventriloquist dummy "Fats" is pretty cool...Sleep Tight!

It depends on what your going for. If you want to be scared by yourself watch the Others. If you want a good zombie flick watch the Reanimator. If your going for gore watch Dead Alive.

Alone, at night, in the dark, hmm?
And you're a bit into the zombie thing?
Definitely you should watch "Prince Of Darkness".
Oh, one more thing: Be sure you're near a window
or sliding glass door with the curtains wide-open.
Just so you can wonder...

Tetsuo: The Iron Man
It'll mess you up more than just about any movie you've ever seen. Turn the lights off and the volume way up.

Evil Dead 2. When that one chick comes out of the ground and starts dancing that still creeps me out for some reason.
