A dominate team of the decade?
The most dominate team of the decade?
A 'Spurs' Dynasty? (ex. A Tiger slam)
A Dynasty by all accounts?
A Dynasty for the ages?
The Spurs are definetively a dominate team with emphasis on the big 4 including Bowen have been together for the past 5
years and have won 3 titles.
Spurs are the most dominate team of the decade because they beat the Lakers in 1999 when the Lakers had kobe and Shaq for 3 years prior to Phil Jackson.
A Spurs dynasty. Yes. The Spurs current team won their first title in the first year they formed. Though not a back to back dynasty, because the Spurs were able to conqueor a previous Lakers dynasty coached by Phil Jackson, and dethrone a defending champion in the Pistons, plus the additional 2007 title qualifies the Spurs for dynasty bragging rights.
Not yet a dynasty by all accounts, and certainly not a dynasty for the ages, but give them 2 more years. GO SPURS GO

They've won 6 of the last 9 division titles, 4 of the last 8 conference titles, and 3 of the last 7 championships. And they're going to their 4th title this year. The dynasty has already begun.
And for the guy who said the championship was handed to them:Thank your team for that, would you?

a dynasty but not a team of the decade since they only won 2 going on 3 titles this decade and there are a few years left. If they win another then they would get the decade. The 1999 title dont count toward this decade.
I think the lakers if they stayed together would have taken the decade easily.
"Spurs are the most dominate team of the decade because they beat the Lakers in 1999 when the Lakers had kobe and Shaq for 3 years prior to Phil Jackson."
If i'm not mistaken, didn't the shaq kobe lakers beat the spurs 3 of the 5 times they met in the playoffs between 1999-2004?

They are indeed the team of this decade. (not the Fakers) And mark my words, they will win it again next year, (assuming they stay healthy) they are not however one of the league's best dynasty because they havent really beaten a great team, The Eastern Conference has been by far the worst it's been probably in league history. I cant say I see the Spurs beaten the Bulls of the '90s or any of the great teams from the 80's. To their defense, I believe they are unrrated and deserve a lot more respect than they get. It's just sad to see the such a great league diminish the way the nba has.

The Spurs would be up there with the all time greats.
When they win their 4th title, they will join the Celtics (16 Titles), Lakers (15titles) & the Bulls (6 Titles) as the only NBA franchises with more 4 or more titles.
Maybe they could add 2-3 titles more before Duncan retires to cement their place in History as one of the all time great franchises.

The simple answer is there is no simple answer because all of the great team that we associate with being a dynasty have all had an exciting superstar that people either love or hate. The spurs have Duncin, but he is just boring to watch. I think they get over looked for how truly great they are at finding a way to win. Whether Its letting Parker do all the work or having Bowen with his shut down defense. Or even if its having a bench warmer put the opposing teams star in the wall and drawing players off the bench, so they get suspended and they lose the next game because of it. You don't have to like there tactics but the are a dynasty.
GO SUNS!!!

a mere foot note and no more. although they are a very good team the have a long way to go to be in the eliete of NBA champions. you spurs fans think that the spurs are the be all and the end all of basketball and they just arent. be proud of your team but for gods sake get over yourselves. they are not that special of a team.

I love my Spurs. Many people think they're boring but skrew them. When they make the game interesting, people call them a dirty team. When they play a tough game, they're boring. theres no pleasing people. if you want drama, watch WWE! The Spurs will go down in history and will be remembered. We have the big three Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker! Who can forget them?

Behind the Celtics, Lakers (Magic), Lakers (shaq), Pistons (bad boys), and then San Antonio....
They have too many weapons and I can see them winning AGAIN next year.
Many teams can score, but name me a team that scores and has a sick defense? Not Phoenix, Not Mavericks. Detroit did, but they got rid of their MVP (Wallace).
Defense wins it in the end and Duncan is THE MAN....
