i am thinking about building my own pc so i have a question.
Putting everything together is fine with me, but i need to know if this is hard, because the motherboard is going to have no graphics card, but i am going to install that does the pc need software for the graphics card first or do you install the os first?

You can not install anything on the hard drive if you could not connect the monitor to any port on the PC. Perhaps you meant there is integrated graphics so there is no discrete graphics card yet.
The OS should always be installed FIRST whether you have integrated or discrete graphics. Immediately next would be the motherboard chipset drivers. It may include drivers for onboard video, LAN and sound. Next would be the graphics card driver then the driver of any expansion card that you put on the PCI slot (e.g. PCI Wifi adapter, TV tuner, etc.).
This setup worked for me flawlessly on my laptops and desktops.

You will need some sort of graphics card to get the screen up to install the o/s.

Bios should have enough to run most basic video cards so you will have a monitor up to view. You may want to read up on bios.

Bios is the firmware on the motherboard. Think of it as a very basic o/s. It is where you set up alot of functions that the motherboard can do. You can install a video card and it should basically work. It won't be high end graphics but it should work.

If the graphics card doesn't work it may be that bios is looking for another slot. if you install a card into an agp slot you have to tell bios that is where the card is or bios may be looking for some sort of on board video card.

It is not too hard to build a pc, but it does take some getting use to.

You have to format your hdd first then install your os, for without it, you can't put the drivers in for your graphics card.

The OS definitely goes first. Once it's running it will scan the hardware and request drivers if it doesn't already have them.
