I've seen 36 stars so far on a question where the guy just begged people to star him.

now and again. People are too lazy to star questions. Even I forget to think of the askers needs for stars. I am not sure if you get anything extra for stars other than browning points.

I don't really know but I starred your question so be happy. When (if) you reach your daily limits a notice should pop up on your screen and there will be a link to show details (how many questions can be answered/asked at your level, etc.). It's like a chart...maybe it will tell you there (?).
