Yes, it is true that limestone becomes marble, but it is not that simple. Under contact metamorphism this relationship is true but under higher pressures in the presence of silica (sand) carbon dioxide is released and wollasstonite (CaCO3 + SiO2 --> CaSiO3 + CO2) is formed. This question does not give specific temperature and pressure relationships, and so more than one correct answer is possible.
