Why did WWE Vinnie Mac hold back Edge's wrestling skill just because he became a heel?

I remember when Edge was a face and he was one of the greatest wrestlers that I've ever seen.
Why did WWE Vinnie Mac hold back his rastlin' skill just because he became a heel?

He hasn't been held back. He is just wrestling differently because of his change from heel to face. Back as a face, he was a blue chipper-type guy, the "future" of the WWE who utilized the fast-paced offense expected from a up-and-coming superstar like him. Now as a heel, he's found his niche as the ultimate opportunist, a guy who uses his smarts and waits for the perfect moment to sneak up and spring his attack. People wrestle differently over time, and if often depends on their heel/face alignment and their character at the time.

Personally, I find both periods of Edge of be excellent. However, I do prefer the heel Edge, as the face Edge was a bit too bland - he wasn't too interesting without his in-ring work. As a heel though, he's found arguably his best characters to date - first, the obsessive whiner who claimed that he never got a true shot at the World Title, and now the ultimate opportunist character.

Either as face or heel though, he's shown himself to have great skill, having nearly carried Raw on his shoulders last year without being asked, and hopefully he'll do just as good of a job this year on Smackdown, who needs his help now more than ever.

I completly agree, the old Edge was much better. Its a little hard to be rated R with no one to be rated R with.
