That is a very good question. I remember the movie "What's love got to do with it." Tina Turner's life story...she sings that song on stage.....Yet I know CCR also made the song. It was probably done first by Tina Turner.

methinks,,,,it was a great tune as recorded by ccwr,along with bad moon rising& i heard it through the grapevine(credit to mr marvin gaye)ccr cut this one in early 70s,,,,,,tina did a long rendition rolling on the river, in the style of ccrs cut of i heard it through the grapevine.with an extended percussion solo, done by ccr,,,,,,,think tina did hers after the other fellas
