I was wondering what the correct definition of formal writing was. Even a web site that tekks you would be nice.

Formal writing involves the following
1 Planning to write -by selection of a topic -could be critical, analytical, descriptive, investigative ,exploratory topic
2 Gathering & collecting matter baased on topic (even novel writing can b fictional, & can be based on facts.
3 Analysing & organising
4 writing with grammatical language (folk topic is folk one writing slang language (by giving meaning in formal language)
5 Rewriting
6 Editing & presenting by publishing a book /presenting to the audience with appropriate media.
