Should I trust my freewill......?

Question

"What if" question: I was building a time machine and a man who resembles my physical features, claims to be me, pop ups out of nowhere and warns me to stop building my time machine, he then disappears before i even ask any question, so should I trust the stranger or should I trust my freewill?

Well, if your future self tells you not to build it... you obviously built it or else he wouldn't come back in time to tell you not to build it.

I'm not so sure time is something that should be messed with. No matter what the technology would, eventually, fall in to the wrong hands and it'd all go to hell from there.

(reference to Terminator2 there, just in case anyone's wondering). Your premise reminds me of that movie. In any case, either way, you are exercising your free will because you are deciding. Trust does not mean there's no free will--you choose to trust with either option.
