The Grateful Dead were a band that had been together for 22 years when they released their album "In The Dark." While they had previously released 19 other albums prior to that, many of which that had gone gold or platinum, "In The Dark" was the first one that gained popular acclaim, winning them a Grammy and a #6 spot on the Billboard Charts.
The band had already made millions of dollars by that time and had such a loyal following they were already legendary. Still, one reporter had the audacity to ask band member Bobby Wier the question: "Now that you've finally made it in the music world, what does success mean to you?"
Now, Bobby could have been completely justified to go off on the guy in my opinion. One does not need popular justification as a measure of their abilities. Still, he didn't lash out. He sat back and he said:
"Success is when you have bought a bag of pistachios, and you can throw away the ones you can't open."

Is she satisfied? you've advised us what she earns, the position she lives and what she does for a living, yet what form of individual is she? might want to you're saying she is satisfied such as her existence? i have self belief that's the authentic definition of fulfillment. Being satisfied interior of your self and your own accomplishments. all and multiple is different in measuring fulfillment. Materialistic human beings base it on how a lot they make, the position they stay, what they rigidity and what fashion designer label stuff they have and so on. the position as different persons locate convenience in relatives, toddlers, pals, the easy issues. on the top of the day, in case you couldnt see your self being occupation pushed, autonomous and independant, then for sure her existence isn't your form of fulfillment. inspite of the indisputable fact that it would want to be hers, and there isn't any longer some thing incorrect with that.

Someone harmonized in mind and body.
THINKS: I want to do this
SAYS: I am going to do this
ACTS: Doesn't give up before doing it.
But that person can be seen as a great failure if other important parts of life are not fulfilling.

My husband and I are not considered rich with money but we consider our life as being successful.
We married when we were 22 in 1957. Together we have raised 4 children and they too are raising children.
We worked together, with ethics, to gain an income we could live with.
We are both retired and will soon be celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary.
He is my lover and my best friend and he has always treated me with great respect and as an equal.
I wake up every morning and honestly say, "I love life".
I would like to share with you a poem that I have framed and it hangs on our wall along with our marriage license and a picture of us when we were young and beautiful.
I have shared this poem many times on yahoo answers. I don't know who the author is.
Take my hand and walk with me,
across the sands of time;
Hand in hand and heart to heart.
Husband . . . friend of mine.
We will share the solitude.
And walk in quiet peace.
My heart hears what your heart says,
it listens when yours speaks.
We’ve shared hearts and souls as one,
in perfect harmony;
The laughter and the tears we’ve known,
Are the sweetest melody.
For years have brought us to this place.
Across the sands of time;
We’ll walk together, till the end.
Husband . . . friend of mine.
Life is good, I wouldn't change a thing.
Thank You for the question.

Depends on your definition, and theirs, of "success". I believe anyone who lives life honourably, without hurting others, and achieving personal goals in their personal life as well as career, are "successful" in many respects.

It's an individual's own perception of achievement, not what society considers to be right.
