OK, maybe not suck a nut or any other kind of sucking but you are right. It is all East Coast bias and the Angels, Mariners, and A's get no love...especially the Angels. Check this out---

1. Who should win the AL Cy Young??? Most people would say, JOSH BECKETT!!! But no, he shouldn't win. Who should win the Cy Young should be Dan Haren, John Lackey or the never EVER talked about Chad Gaudin, who is 6-1 with a 2.43 ERA. The reason why he doesn't have many wins is because the A's can't hit. Anyway, the West Coast gets no love for the great starters that the West Coast has.

2. Who should win AL Rookie of the Year??? Dustin Pedroia!!! WRONG!!! The AL Rookie of the Year should be Reggie Willits. Look at these stats---

Reggie Willits
.321 AVG, 0 HR, 13 RBI, 15 SB, and 32 R

Dustin Pedroia
.314 AVG, 2 HR, 16 RBI, 0 SB, and 21 R

These stats may look identical but when you have 15 stolen bases and 32 runs scored, you should win Rookie of the Year.

3. Yankees, Yankees, Yankees. Could we please talk about something else??? Sports shows could go on and on about the Yankees. They are 1 game above .500 and probably won't even make the playoffs. But you do have the Angels, who are 41-25, the Mariners, who are 35-27, and you have the A's, who are 35-29. All three of these teams combine in one year have less publicity than the Yankees in one day.

It's not just East Coast bias. KFWB and KNX barely mention the Angels' result when they give the sports reports. The Dodgers rate a discussion of the previous night's game and an analysis of the coming game. On sports radio, KSPN employs blowhards like Colin Cowherd and Kevin and DeMarco who can talk for hours about nothing, honestly nothing. Cowherd has dedicated hours and hours of talk about Mike Vick's fighting chickens. I can't imagine anything more boring. KLAC (570) is all Lakers, all the time. Why discuss Lackey's dominance when you can have the Smush Parker hour.
On the other hand, the Angels play quality baseball and consistently draw 38,000 - 43,000 per game depending on the opponent, pretty much the same as the Dodgers. Both teams are on cable every game. Who cares if the truly stupid don't discuss them. That may be a good sign.

Baseball likes to market teams that have been around the longest. The Yanks and Red Sox are two of them. Both of these teams playing together draw a bigger crowd. You must be from Cali, as am I. SoCal, in the I.E. How do you know the Angels aren't getting play in the media out east? I've got eastern channels and I see a lot of Angel talk on their stations. Angels own the Yanks from the beginning!!!

It's the same reason you didn't get to hear much about the Ducks (until they won it all). East coast bias plain and simple. They never respect the teams out here and when they do get beat by them, you get the sour grapes, fluke and bandwagon talk. Add the fact that our night games don't end until 1am there, and these teams are the best kept secret in their respective leagues.

The Angels are quietly on a heck of a run in the past 6 weeks. They are solid in most areas including the biggest (pitching) and haven't lost a season series in about a month. Let em overlook the halos and be crying after their loss in the ALDS (yes Yankees I'm talking to you).

the angels get overshadowed by Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, and Dodgers. I think its their name they can really can't take the angels seriously with that name even when they are winning.
