Not t-shirts or the hats, but actuall shirts, pants etc that an anime character might wear?
I'm in the Pacific Northwest if anyone knows of anywhere in particular

You can try going to Japan and getting the costumes by going to cosplay events. (Cosplay meaning people dressing up as the anime character itself) Or you can read this magazine called "Layers" which is a Japanese cosplay magazine. (If you can read Japanese)
If you are unable to go to Japan, you can go to Toys & Joys (they have anime costumes sometimes). You can also read Shojo Beat (which you can find at bookstores).
But one of the most easiest things to do to look for costumes is to search for the costume (piece by piece) on Google.
