I know alcohol is safe, just rinse with a damp cloth afterwards.
However, if you're trying to clean them, use a Mr. Clean Eraser. They'll look brand new again!

I would try a Mr. Clean eraser if that didn't work I'd use some Bar Keepers Friend. Make a past out of it and rub it into the shoe with a rag. Good luck.

Rubbing alcohol shouldn't hurt them, but steer clear of the acetone which might melt them. Try a little lemon oil, or baby oil on them. You'd be surprised how much they clean not to mention making them look spanking new. Bye

Nope, it will eventually chip the rubber.
