Is there anything that works like a wireless router but with a twist - I want the device to receive the signal wirelessly then making it accessible via ethernet ports.

These are called Wireless Bridges. There are serveral available. Buffalo technologies has one with four eithernet ports to connect four comuters (or more if an external switch is added).

Or many other online suppliers like buy.com etc

Nearly all suppliers have them available, linksys, dlink, netgear. Some AP (access points ) can be set to "Bridge Mode" but many can not so just get a bridge to start with it will do what you want.

Actually, a wireless Access Point (AP) which is a part of a wireless router does just that. Traffic which comes in the Ethernet ports is sent out over the air, and vice-versa.

You can purchase an AP without having a router in it - in which case it's just a basic wireless to Ethernet bridge (or if multi-port - perhaps a switch).
