If you can handle subtitles, I love "Amelie", it is a very cute French film. If you might like classic movies try "The Philadelphia Story" with Katerine Hepburn, Cary Grant and James Stewart.

A few recommendations:

Notting Hill -- a "reverse" Cinderella story where a famous American actress (played by Julia Roberts) falls in love with a local bloke (Hugh Grant) living in Notting Hill. A nice romantic story, funny, with a good local British supporting cast.

One Fine Day -- follows the happenings one day of two single parents (played by Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney) who are forced to spend the day with their kids as they arrive late for the school's field trip. Although follows the typical formula (hate-relationship), both have good chemistry.

When Harry Met Sally -- follows the life of two people who "meet" each other at various stages in their lives and become friends (this is the movie with Meg Ryan's famous restaurant scene)

The Holiday with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet. It's about two women one in California and on in England and one way or the other they hate men because of bad relationships and for Christmas they switch houses and Jude Law and Jack Black are also in it...by far the greatest romantic comedy!
