Yes, it is true in some extent, the heat generated from laptops is definitely not healthy for human body. As much as possible,the heat should be kept away from your body. There can be two possible ways to do it
1) Keep it on a table
2) Use a insulator, like a sheet of cardboard or a thick plastic sheet below the laptop if you intend to keep it in on your lap so that the hor air is not blown directly on your body parts

The only way i know of that laptops can be dangerous does not really apply to you (judgeing form your user pic). It isnt a great idea for guys to have laptops on their "laps" for too long--the heat is much too great for our little swimmers and can effectively lower sperm count if long term use of the unit on the lap is frequent. Guys, protect your little ones and invest in a lap-tray for your computer!

NOT Cancer but Carpal Tunnel syndrome (severe wrist pain) and neck pain if you spend long hours on your laptop. The laptop has poor ergonomics and was not meant to be used for long hours like a desktop.

LOL, i have heard as well keeping mobile phone in ur pockets can coz of cancer, everything has side effects, even watching a T.V can be coz of something and for cautions one can't lock up itself in a room. ppl who who never used laptops and cell has been died in cancer. so go a ahead i say laptops are healing in cancer;)

i think thats a little far fetched. it's bad for guys to use it cos it heats up that area.lol
but they might have been talking about WIFI, but i'm sure it's no more harmful as a cell phone or even less harmful.
