"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Indeed, if you love what you are doing then you will be happy" -Albert Schweitzer
Success like beauty is many times in the eye of the beholder. But truthfully success is what you make it, if you are happy then you are successful.

The successful ones are those that meet the criteria of their own definitions of success, which in itself are derived from their interpretation and limiting classification of success as measured according to the society in which the live. This view is obvious, yet important, since there are many variations pertaining to the cultural delineation of what constitutes success.
It can be measured in terms of wealth, health, behaviour, achievement, attitude, ethics, fulfilment, contentment or happiness amongst others. It is for each of us to determine or construct a personal and achievable criterion as regards to success, as it would be very difficult to embody all possible accomplishments success allows.
We should be realistic in terms of the possible and take care not to overwhelm ourselves with to diverse and numerous goals. Instead of trying to do and be all, we should focus on what we feel essential to our purpose and what we determine as our responsibility. This entails a localised yet connected vision expanded outwards only when we have earned the task and commitment of responsibility over others.
Whatever we materially consume is denied others, but knowledge consumed and creatively employed can benefit us as a whole. I suggest a focus on developing your character along ethical principles and a vision sharpened through reason and tempered through compassion as the foundation for your quest for success.

In my opinion, success is measured in the amount of fulfillment a person experiences in their life. The individual must specify what counts as fulfillment - some say its the number or relationships they have, others measure it in material things, and some are only fulfilled by giving to others.

"The measure of a man is not in how much he loves, but by how much he is loved." That's from It's a Wonderful Life, and that, to me, is the definition of success.

Do you want 'success' or 'happiness' defined?
To be successful you must fulfill your purpose in life.
Happiness tends to be determined by things that 'happen' in life- and therefore tends to rise and fall.
Joy, on the other hand, comes from God, and is there no matter what is 'happening' in life.

People who refuse to take no for an answer, people who see what they want and are relentless until they get it, people who know there is always room for improvement, and keep trying to outdo themselves. Ambition, drive, motivation, all cliches, but true.

Successful people (in my opinion) are people that are living life to the full. People that love themselves and love others. People that are happy and enthusiastic. Everyone has their own opinion...!!

Sucess is the opposite of failure. Failure is not achieving your goals (either in professional career, relationships or any other sphere of life).
