Yup Naruto episode 124 is an episode, which is part of the original manga storyline. But there wasn't an actual episode in which they showed the day when Lee got drunk in the restaurant... It was just a flashback in episode 124.

Ok and to explain about fillers right... Naruto episodes 1 to 135 form Part 1 of Naruto. These are mostly part of the original manga storyline, up till Sasuke's defection from Konoha and his going to Orochimaru. After that, episodes 136 to 220 are fillers. These fillers are not part of the original manga storyline, but rather additional stories in the anime only. They are to widen the gap between the manga and the anime and to prevent the anime from catching up with the manga too quickly. This is because each anime episode covers about 1-and-a-half manga chapters. Yup and also the fillers don't contribute to major plot development as they're not supposed to interrupt with the flow of the original story. Like they can't kill off main characters and stuff haha. So if you skip watching the fillers, and go straight on to watching Shippuuden (Part 2, where all the characters are 2-and-a-half years older), you won't be lost in the original storyline.

Yup hope that helps! :)

Well fillers were the block of episodes that "filled" in the space between the manga where there is a 3 year gap, they were created only for animation so that the manga could get ahead because the show was catching up to quick. Fillers start around 130-140ish and don't end till like 220/where Naruto Shippudden starts. The episode you are talking about is one of the episodes where Lee fights Kimmimaru (guy with the ability to control his bones) Gaara is in that fight too, not sure what number it is but it is an episode.

Fillers episodes are stories that have nothing to do with the manga. They are there to "fill" the time so the author has more time to finish a current arc in his manga. In naruto's case, over 60+ episodes.
