would they mix?

Since both the pirahna and hujeta are ambush predators, it would largely depend on the size of the fish. If they are roughly the same size, it might be possible. However, the hujeta are fish that swallow their prey whole where the pirahna have teeth that are sharp enough to take chunks out of the other fish in the tank.

I would think that a dempsey would suffer with pirahnas, but if large enough would work with the hujetas. I don't know if I would risk the high priced fish (pirahna and hujeta) in an experiment to see if it would work out. Separate tanks would be the best solution IMHO.

I have kept pirahna and they are sneaky and will attack from the rear of most any fish when they are hungry. That is the reason for the tail spot (eye spot) on the oscars. They share some of the same territories as the pirahna and the "eye spot" keeps the pirahna from attacking them from behind as they think the oscars are always watching them.

BTW, did you know that the pirahna is a species of tetra?

Nope, bad move on both counts. I wouldn't put either piranha or jacks with a hujeta. The hujeta would get bullied too badly by the jacks and probably killed by the piranha

No piranhas cant live with anything, even their own species. Two or more piranhas can seem peaceful, even maybe playful with each other, but they're blood thirsty (wow this sounds like a horror movie) One morning you could find one piranha is left and the other ones head are floating at the top of the tank.

Piranah don't "mix" with anything.

They "eat" anything.
