Like, how long does it take... a week, month, year or what. Cause the radio DJ seems to think Linkin Park's 'What I've Done' is still new, yet that song's been out for quite a while now.

It depends on the DJ, but I believe that most look at ratings charts. If a song stays on the charts it's fresh or new and when it doesn't it becomes old. You can look at Yahoo's top 100 on their front page music section and follow along.

If it's a really good song, it takes about three-five months, according to radio play. I agree with you, "What I've Done" is not new. It's been out for over a month. But it's not old, either. I think of it as in the middle. Between old and new.

People consider a song to be old after it's not on the radio as much anymore, if it WAS on the radio before. Also, it can become old if it starts getting to be annoying to you. It probably takes a few monthes... What I've Done is sort of new though...
