I am not a doctor and know nothing about the schooling required to do so. But I am very experienced in accomplishing amazing goals much later in life. In my world there is no such thing as 'too late'. I have accomplished more in the past ten years than I did with the first fifty years combined. It's just a matter of setting realistic goals and targets and believing in yourself. Of course you can do it. You have to be committed to your desire and beliefs and the rest will follow. If I ever told you what a putz and loser I was for the first fourty years of my life and what I have made of myself now, you positively wouldn't believe it. I just barely made it out of high school. Never saw the inside of a college and eventually went on to become the Vice President of a very large property development group that operated in five states up and down the eastern seaboard. And that was just the beginning. Sorry to be so long winded, but I can't impress upon you enough that you are never too old to do anything you set your mind to.
Good luck and be a great Dr.

it really is not too late right now, but if you keep putting it off it will be. I was around 27 when first I started college, never went after high school. 5 yrs of college, on to med school, started ob/gyn residency at 36, began practicing at 40. I did it, so can you and you have a head start compared to where I was since you have some credits. pick a good undergrad though, you dont want to waste any time at a school that does not do well insofar as getting students into med school.

It is not too late at all. The average age of a graduate student is now about 30 years old and climbing. I'm 29 and just finishing my BA at NYU and will start my masters Fall '08, probably here at NYU as well, but I was thinking of transferring as I've been here in the city 4+ years now and want to get out. I moved to Germany after high school and worked to save money before I ever even considered college. I just was not ready at the time. It is probably better for you long term as if you stayed, you may not have done well.
In our graduate school here at NYU, just this last graduation we had a guy who was 72 years old finish his PhD. Now that is old! You're still a baby, or at least I like to think so as I'm your same age :)
Good luck!

It certainly will be difficult. Much more difficult than if you went the traditional route. You would still have to complete your undergraduate degree, take the MCAT, go through medical school and specialize in Gynecology. It will take more than 8 years at this point, since assuming you will be working at the same time, but what's the most nagging point is the fact that you do not hold even an undergraduate degree.
Postbacs usually do very well with part time science preparation, but since you don't hold a degree, you cannot apply to any Post-Baccalaureate pre-medical programs.

I'm not in that boat exactly but I would have to say no it's not too late for you to become an OBGYN...If it is, then it's too late for me....my hearts desire is in teaching..I'm 30 and haven't started college at all yet. I got pregnant for my oldest at 18, had him at 19, got my GED that same year, got my CNA, and worked as a CNA since...I have an 11 yr old and a 4 year old...I can't start my schooling until they are both in school...so I have to wait yet another year...which will make me AT LEAST 37 when I graduate. I say GO FOR IT!!! It is NEVER too late to chase your dreams!!!

It's not too late. However, if you wanna be an OBGYN, remember to tack on about 4-5 yrs for internship/residency on top of med school. Still, there's no reason why you can't practice into your 70s as a OBGYN.

Anything is possible if you have the drive, desire and intellect. Don't let armchair critics on Yahoo either persuade or dissuade you from something that is truly your heart's desire. Take it one step at a time. Along the way you may find there is something that interests you more. If you don't try, you will always regret it.
