Ok, so first off, by the time you're in medical school and choosing what type of residency, you really don't care about your mcat scores anymore. Then, you have to start worrying about what your usmle step1 and 2 scores are.
generally, some popular residencies are dermatology, ophthamology as they are easier lifestyles, so tend to be competitive. Other competitive residencies are surgical (neuro, ortho). Less popular residencies are anesthesia, pathology. Generally, there are many spots, so peds and medicine are easier to get into.

mcat has nothing to do with residency. residency programs couldn't care less what your MCAT's were

derm and radiology are hardest---family practice and internal med are easiest--these arent based on mcat but your med school grades and 3rd/4th year clinical evals--and who you know....
