I was never good in math... How do I calculate what my final mark would be in a class? Our first exam was worth 35%, participation worth 20%, and final exam worth 45%.
Can someone show me the formula please? Thanks!

assuming you scored 90% for the 1st exam,
---> 90% of 35% weightage

assuming you scored 92% for the participation,
---> 92% of 20% weightage

assuming you scored 95% for the final exam,
---> 95% of 45% weightage

0.90 * 0.35 + 0.92 * 0.20 + 0.95 * 0.45
= 0.315 + 0.184 + 0.4275
= 0.9265
= 92.65%

so your final marks would be 92.65%.

OK, so instead of a straight percentage (points received divided by points possible), we have a weighted average.

So let's call your percentage score (95%, 50%, whatever) on the first exam A, your classroom participation score B, and your final exam score C. To find each of these, divide the number of points received by the number of points possible (R/P) to come up with a number between 0.0 and 1.0. Your final mark would be....

(A*0.35) + (B*0.2) + (C*0.45)

Again, you should get a number between 0 and 1. Multiply that by 100 to get your percentage score [i.e. 0.85 would be 85%].

As for the letter grade, it depends on the classes grading criteria.

Always start your meal using a salad. It'll fill you way up, making you eat less of the actual meal, and it's technique fewer calories than typical deep-fried or maybe cheesy apps.

Set up reminders on your computer or phone every hour to encourage yourself to get up, walk around, and stretch.

Utilize the 20 minute rule. Eat the portion-controlled meal then, even if you are hungry afterwards, wait for 20 minutes and find out if you still do. Nine times out of 10, you won’t. If one does, eat 10 per cent far more.

Reduce your stress. Your stress hormone cortisol could be activated by extremely low-calorie diet plans, intense training, lack of slumber and day-to-day worries, which leads to a spike in glucose levels in your blood. More worryingly, it can promote blocked arteries and fat develop around your internal organs, putting you vulnerable to diabetes and heart disease. Really the only prescription for this is to… pass the time.

Sonce the final is 20% (ie, one fifth) of your average, all you need to do is take the mean of: (76+76+76+76+90)/5 = 78.8

Eat in front of a person rather than screen. It cuts down on mindless eating and making you more accountable for each bite.
