Why is the following so hard for many conservatives to understand?

First of all, they do not understand that we are not our bodies. Bodies are just things, like cars are things. They are not what we are. We are souls, and our bodies are just the vehicles we use to manipulate around in this physical plane. Our true essences cannot be killed or even die.....ever! Many people think of the soul as something we have, and the body as what we are, but those people have it backward. A fetus will become a baby, once it is able to think and to survive on its own, outside the womb. But, life actually never begins or ends, it just always is...and it cannot ever be destroyed. *sm*

If a fetus is not a baby, then when does life begin. Since a child can live outside of the "incubator" at about week 21, when is it a viable life and not just a fetus? Since a BABY can survive at this point, so we start life here? The only logical point to start life is at conception, all other points on the incubation timeline are irrelavent because medicine is able to keep a child alive earlier and earlier in a pregnancy. Or review the latest studies of women having had abortions and the greif/trauma they feel afterward. (Not the trauma you will ignorantly assume is imposed on these mothers by christian zealots that enjoy having children on the earth.)

Also if we stick with your logic, then a boyfriend should be allowed to injure a pregnant girlfriend, with the intent of killing child and only be criminally liable for minor injuries he inflicts on the mother. (SICK, but your logic)

Lastly, if you wish to debate the need for abortion under circumstances of rape, incest, medically challenged births or a child that will be born with a defect. Please research the first 3 and actully review the few times these occur, then review that data and try to find enjoyment in those cases that don't abort and still live happy lives enjoying the children of these misfurtunes.

It is not the misunderstanding conservatives that are wrong about this, it is those (like you) who value life the same way they value their sneakers that are morally deficient.

You seem to be taking comfort in the ridiculous notion that abortion is as simple as taking political sides. As though the power which judges you is not within your own spirit but amongst those who would agree with you.

I am 50 years old and have never before seen pictures like the ones offered in the website above. They are chilling, but I have never needed pictures or the opinion of any other to convince me that abortion is an obscene and evil and cowardly act.

Hannah, have you ever had an abortion or are you just enamored with a way of thinking? Hon, the real world is much different than sitting around Starbucks debating the political ideal of the day.

Abortion is murder, a fetus is an under developed human being, and a woman is an incubator for the unborn child. But don't worry I don't care if you want to abort the unborn child, but you will have to live with what you have done. Maybe you can have another child at a later date, and tell the child how lucky he/she is, that you didn't abort him/her.

I don't know about the incubator part of your question, but yes you are right.. and I wish people without education in the field would stay out of the debate- because when they speak of abortion being murder and when life starts is a complete contradiction of what Doctors tell mothers who miscarry, or the fetus dies for unknown reasons, or the cord gets wrapped around it's neck, or finds out she can't carry the baby to term... etc... the doctor will do everything in his power to make that poor broken hearted woman with the empty nursery understand that it was not a baby, and it did not feel anything, etc.. and then you have these people with no education or background on the subject talking about murder and life begins at conception, and when there's a heartbeat, and when there is brain activity, and what the fetus feels, etc... it's a joke and the only people they are hurting are those woman who wanted their babies and go back home from the hospital to the empty nurseries.. I wish they cared for the women as much as they do the embryos and the fetuses-

I am wondering more why babies only matter until the point at which they are born.
Dubya says we have the best healthcare in the world yet we have the worst child mortality rate in the developed world and even trail Cuba in this respect.
If Republicans cared one iota for the lives of children they would be screaming at this and demanding that all US children have health insurance. They would be wanting to know why Americans spend more on healthcare per capita than any other nation yet get only a 3rd world health system in return.

Look people, there is no defining quality to what is "human"; the list of characteristics is endless and there is no established criteria. (i.e. is after the gills are gone?) An "abortion" is a termination of cells, NOT the killing of a fully functioning / formed baby.

Yes, abortion is murder and every women who has had one in her life, will stand before her maker one day and tell him why she has killed another human being. I think you are a sick individual. You need help, if you think it is okay to kill a helpless, unborn baby.

The fetus is alive. I saw my sons heart beat, show up as small waves on the ultra sound screen, he was no bigger than a pea, but the waves were visible to the size of a quarter. Aborting him would have stopped a beating heart, which is murder.

I'm not a bible thumper, a Jew, or a Muslim, or a member of any kind of religion. I just know evil when I see it.
