I stopped after the strike shortened season. Recently I have been getting the yearning to watch again, since golf just doesn't cut it for summer sports. I mean how many times can you watch Tiger win. So is the game better, the same, or worse than it was in the 80s. Also, how have the cardinals been, I was a huge ozzie smith and gang fan.

It had more to do with the owners than the players. I don't mind the players getting their share. The owners are making out like bandits, why shouldn't the talent? I saw the Cavs franchise is now worth 150 million more than before Lebron joined. I stopped watching because with the money BOTH sides are making, why couldn't they pull it together to play the world series?

The St. Louis Cardinals are doing pretty good. They're one of those few teams who manage to win in odd situations. For instance, they were the worst regular-season team to win the World Series ever.

Baseball players' use of drugs have been getting worst since the '80's, but when Bud Selig retires in a couple of years that should change. Other than that, if you've always loved baseball, it's a great time to get interested in Major League Baseball!

I don't understand why so many people quit watching baseball because of the strike. Do you have any idea How silly that seems to me. Baseball has how many games a season? 162 I think. Baseball players play almost as many games in a couple of weeks as football does all season, so why shouldn't they have a big paycheck. Personally, NO sports figure should get the kind of money they are getting. Not when we have Americans in their own country, starving to death. It just isn't right. But I am a Hugh Baseball fan. Ryne Sandberg was a fav of mine. So is the forever great Sammy Sosa. So, yes, by all means, go back to watching the games. I mean, where else can you spend the day at the park, in the fresh air and sunshine, chat with your friends for an inning or two, and never miss a thing. So, let's play ball. Enjoy!!!!

Yes, baseball is good. The Cardinals are second in the NL Central but that isn't saying much this season. I don't think they are even at .500 this year yet. I think they'll pick it up though and probably win the division. I didn't watch really in the 80's seeing as I was born in 1986, but I think the game is doing well. A lot of solid pitchers and a lot of great players. Plus Barry Bonds is about to break that record for all time home runs. Just some people like me are rooting against him.

Yes. Most definitely you should start watching now. Though, if you are against the big money certain players / teams make then be prepared to face the fact that it's widely spread now than it was at first. Though, there are some players / teams that do give a good portion of their paycheck to charity if that eases the pain. Pujols (The Cardinals 1st baseman now, 30+ HR's every season since rookie year '6 years btw', 115+ RBI's every year, .310+ AVG every year) donates millions to a charity for autistic kids every year. So there still is some good in the game.

The strike?? That was years ago. Why hold onto something like that if it is separating you from the game you love??

You just missed out on your Cards winning the WS last fall. There will be new names and faces for you to get used to, but baseball has remained baseball for many years, and will continue to do so.

The Angel team you remember when you last watched baseball is the heart of the Cardinal team in 2007. Edmonds, Spezio, Eckstein, Kennedy. Oh yeah, and they're getting Troy Percival too.
