What are your personal thoughts of Jesus?

Well under most concepts of Jesus, he is God...that is part of the holy trinity, and not seperate from God himself.

What should we call Jesus. We call Jesus lord dating back to the Medieval times, where you have a feudal society in which everyone in society, going up to the king gave fealty to someone else. Often in long complicated chains. So Jesus was their lord.

Jesus called God, father. In traditional patriochal societies, your father and your lord are the same thing. In Roman society your dad had the right to kill you. Think about that next time you don't clean your room kiddies.

Jesus referred to people as brothers and his flock. These are simply analogies to explain his relationship. Obviously he is not my brother, and neither are you. But he said "What you do to the least of my brothers, you also do to me". This means, in the context of the society of the time, where you look out for your family, then everyone is family. (Though some people argue that Jesus was talking mostly about Jews and not all people...and don't mistake the good Samaritan story as saying you should help everyone...it was about following religious doctrine can mean you end up doing the wrong thing).

Many religions, including the catholic father, believe that we should have a personal relationship with God (and Jesus too). So for one person Jesus is one of their posse, for another their family, others a good friend, others he is their shepard and guide (even lord) and maybe for some Jesus is their spiritual tech support guide.

Jesus is many things.
friend..
brother..(If He isGods son, which He is, and I am His daughter, wouldnt that make us siblings?)
Although Jesus was man, God put Himself into Jesus.. Which would make Jesus Lord. -But, NOT creator..OR God, Himself.

Jesus was/is a healer..
comfortor..savior..

But dont get Him comfused with God..
God is the protector.. Father.. creator(as mentioned).. and soo much more.

(Although this may not make much sence, God and Jesus are the same. -Thats what the Trinity is about...The Holy Spirit..God, and Christ, becoming ONE.

BUT...God is also seperate from Jesus. God also Jesus's Lord.. and Father..

So, on one hand, they are the one.. and on the other, they are seperate beings.)

If one believes beyond that ! He is all in all ! He committed himself to the complete humanity, irrespective of devils or angels. Such person is the "Yug Purush" and would be with the humanity till existence of Sun, Earth & Sea.

I am basically a human being, but religiously not a chrstian.

My personal thoughts of Jesus is that Jesus taught us to recognize our Christ Consciousness. The part of us that transcends ego and brings us to recognize the truth of our eternal nature. Jesus showed us the truth of who we truly are, instead humans have made a god out of him while they continue to cling to their physical being.

"Christ, in terms of the Christian philosophy, is the human ideal. He personifies that which men should strive to emulate. Yet according to the Christian mythology, he died on the cross not for his own sins but for the sins of the nonideal people. In other words, a man of perfect virtue was sacrificed for men who are vicious and who are expected or supposed to accept that sacrifice. If I were a Christian, nothing could make me more indignant than that: the notion of sacrificing the ideal to the nonideal, or virtue to vice. And it is in the name of that symbol that men are asked to sacrifice themselves for their inferiors. That is precisely how the symbolism is used."

He is our Savior buddy. Buuuttt... I'm strongly opposed to religion for myself although I do respect it in others. In fact, I find it very courageous that others can have so much faith and belief in a figure and that they can continue to stand for what they believe in. However, I do think it is odd that they can only believe something in groups. Shouldn't everyone have their own religion? I guess your question is a good one because the varying of answers will show differences in the essence of religion.
