wont the jar break in the garbage?

No, it will break in the land field and it is bad for the environment. You can take it to an shop that changes oil and they will dispose of it for you. Most won't charge anything to do this service.

depends on what kind of oil and if you have a bio fuel car. And no the jar won't break in the garbage but you might want to wait for it to cool of before putting it in the trash. You really don't want to clean up the mess if the jar is hot enough to melt the plastic garbage bar. Right!

You can reuse oil acouple of times before you just throw it away.... If you are throwing away large amounts of oil 1 gal or more you may be able to have someone pick it up for recycling into fuel.... This depends on where you live and if anyone near you would be willing to pick it up.... If it's just a pint here and there you don't have to worry about chucking that out... Just try and use it a couple times before you dispose of it... Get a fine mesh strainer....

if you are talking about cooking oil, keep it if the oil is not dirty. remember you are going to eat the oil. if it is other oil, put the jar near the trash so it doesn't brake.
