I love a man I have not seen in a while. He is my best friend. He is interested in being a missionary and traveling a great deal to dangerous places; I do not want to go to dangerous places, but can certainly travel. When I have asked for details, how long we would be gone, where we would be, I get bull answers. It seems to me he hasn't really looked into this, and doesn't do misson work here. However, I love him very much, feel I cannot live without him and want the best for us. I know, in the end, it is my decision if I go along. I would like to wait it out, and see if this is what he really wants to do. In the meantime, I still love him very much, and I miss him like crazy. Any tips on how to avoid this hardship, continue the friendship, see each other more often and spend quality time together (he lives in atlanta, i in ohio) and i'm scared we'll go our separate ways. It's hard to hope; he's always been there 4 me; but sometimes, i want to walk away; or to be married!

For two to walk together, they must be going the same direction.

You're wise to wait. If sacrificing your home here to go on missions just doesn't seem to be in God's will for you in the months ahead (perhaps set a limit of 3-6 months), it's best if you move on if he remains committed to that direction. If he, nor you, "find" anyone else in the time following, one or the other of you may change.

Furthermore, he may actually settle on a place and that's alot easier to decide about than somewhere "out there" in Timbuktu.

It's hard to lose someone you love, but it's easier than living together and wanting completely different directions for a lifetime!

If he is giving you bull answers as you say, maybe he is having doubts about this relationship. Maybe his mission work mean so much to him he is afraid if he gives in and marries you it will hinder this. You are the only one who knows in your heart what to do. Pray and leave it in God hands.
