First I will justify what I did with some background. I had my first boyfriend when I was 14. He was constantly pressuring me to do more than I wanted. He told me nobody else would have me because I was fat (I wasn't any more than 20 pounds overweight! I look at those pictures now and think, "Hey, I was cute!" :-) He always wanted me to "help with"--that is, do--his homework, and I was two grades behind him. But, you know, he was soooo good-looking, and the other girls in my class looked at me with new respect, so I stuck with him.

Then he slapped me, and I had just read an article in Seventeen magazine saying that relationship abuse happens with teenagers too and that a boy who slapped would only get more violent. So I left.

Then I met other girls who had also been dating him when I was. The two who were still dating him (they didn't know about each other, either) dumped him together in the mall, loudly. But then there was my idea.

We decided to make him undateable in both my middle school and his high school. I decided we would spread an STD rumor about him. Hell, the way he was living, there would soon be truth to it anyway, I figured. We came up with gruesome descriptions and made sure to add that we had run away screaming before we did anything and broke up with him because of it. He and his family would move a few months later, but it was a very lonely few months for him after we planted those rumor seeds, I'll tell you that!
