I know I want either a fish, hampster, rabbit or something small, that doesnt cost a lot of money. Plus I want to be able to play with it so It has to have a friendly presonality. And it has to get along with my 2 cats. I have had hampsters in the past and their OK i guess.

Well then I would recommend you either get a rabbit or a guinea pig. A rabbit is usually large enough to stand its own in the presence of a cat. Cat naturally accord them come respect even though they still smell of prey due to their size.
Some months after, you may even catch them grooming each other. Rabbits can also be toilet trained and thus will be a lot easier to care for.

Ok the Rat is what you want they are smart and fun and they love to play with you and rats can get close with you love to cuddel and did i say play play and play som more. I do not like hampsters no masey and they did not like to play like a rat. And next is the ever lovley cninchillas they are pritty good if you can afford them and they do not cost much to feed they do need to be keept at a serten tmp cool not hot or humid. If you are like me I would go exotic like a snake a grat one to go with a corn snake if you want big go with a colombian boa they get to 8 feet. Don't get a fish get a snake or a rat go with the rat. Rat's are about 8 to 15 cash up frount and a chinchillas are 120 to 200 depeds on ware you go for a snake a corn snake is anney ware from 10 to 60 for a colombian boa is 120 to 180. and colombian is not the same as a red tailed boa ok reds are much more like 400 to 500 and up if you do get one or anney pet try to find a breeder you can find tham a moltiple was like one is to go to www.kingsnake.com or run an add in the paper. The best wae is to go to a breeder but an eser wae is the pet stor like petsmaret or animart or evin wall mart. Pest mart will have a rat for sall if you half a old hampster cage that will do just fin and you can feed it all most anney thong you eat good luck and have fun. OK rat rat rat rat rat the rat is wat you want rat rat have fun remaber rat rat.

Hedgehogs. Now, you may be thinking, a hedgehog. African Pygmy hedgehogs are wonderful pets and are not too hard to care for. They range from about $70-$250. Note that the $250 hedgehogs are very rare colours eg:albinos, apricot and so on. Check out the website for more info.
I have a cat and an albino hedgehog. My hedgehog can be out of his cage and (under my supervision) can be allowed around my cat. I think my kitty has no intention to hurt my hedgie since she has shown no sign of aggression. Even if my kitty did try to attack, one swipe at a ball of quills would make her back off. By the way, in case you were wondering, if a hedgehog's quills are down and it isn't scared, hedgehogs aren't prickly/painful. I highly recommend you at least look at the website, it rocks!

I'd say a Chihuahua .... if you want to have a pet that you don't have to keep in a cage. I've heard they're pretty good with cats, and if you get one as a puppy you should have no prop's.
Plus you wont have to worry about the cats trying to eat a Chihuahua - i think they'd be pretty interested in the fish or a hamster!

With two cats, larger small animals are a better choice, cats don't tend to hunt them. Ferrets are really playful and affectionate, but they're not so cheap to get, so if you consider getting one, do plenty of research. They go great with cats and they can even roam the house with your cat, but first you need to ferret proof your house of dangers. They live for about 5 years if they don't get tumors. Rabbits are also good with cats, they don't really bother them, but they chew on things so they have to be kept in a cage. They need attention though, so don't ignore them! There are also many smaller rodents that you would have to keep out of reach of your cats, like a hamster or rat. If you get a hamster, get a panda bear hamster, it's bred for their temperament and they are really sweet. Hamsters live for about two years. Rats are also a great choice. They're fun to watch and you can take them out and hold them and have them sit on your shoulder while you do things. Rats also live for about 2 years and usually get tumors.

And when you decide on what you want, go to a shelter. There are plenty of nice, adoptable pets there who need a good home! <3

Check out a rat. Rats are clean, smart, friendly, playful and don't squirm and bite like hamsters too. The need a nice cage or habitat and rat food. They're very inexpensive and make wonderful pets. Don't get a male and a female pair unless you get the male neutered right away or you'll end up like me, with 62 pet rats(my parents loved that!)

How about a ferret there small. I have a ferret and 2 cats they get along great always chasing each other around the house. They can be expensive if you have to buy one, but I'm always seeing local organizations basically giving them away.
