How did he ignore Pearl Harbor? He declared war on Japan the fallowing day Japan didn't give us a warning until after the attack. Not trying to bash the troops, but it was their doing that they were being so Naive. Just because you don't want to get involved in a war does not make you a bad guy. It was no conspiracy. He helped Britain out during ww2 before we got involved. He was president for 4 terms not 2. He helped the people go through the great depression unlike Hoover. No I think he was one of the greatest presidents. The only thing I didn't like was the whole Japanese internment camps it was wrong. This man had a lot under his belt and he still ran for President.

I'd encourage you to look into this further.

It's easy in retrospect to see the signs that Japan was planning to attack the US. But at the time, the warnings were only a few among thousands of bits of intelligence, some real, many false, even more the significance of which was hard to determine. At a time when most Americans wanted nothing to do with wars abroad, Roosevelt knew that we had to get involved. Whiel many Americans admired Hitler, he knew that the man was evil and had to be stopped. He played an enormous role in persuading Americans to support the war, and in transforming American industry into the machine that won the war.

Even before the war, Roosevelt took a nation mired in depression and found creative ways to put people back to work. It was under his administartion that many of the nation's most prominent public works were constructed.

Roosevelt was admired by Churchill and other great leaders around the world. He was elected FOUR times. He not only won the wars in Europe and Japan, but did so in a way that made the entire world our friends.

We could use a president like him now.

STUPID???? Yes,he was so stupid he was Commander in Chief of a two front war involving ten million Soldiers,Sailors and Marines. He started the Lend Lease program that kept both the British and Russian armies in the war.He also demanded an unconditional surrender from both Germany and Japan.
Bush would have a problem organizing a two car parade.

You must be a total idiot. He was the only 4 time elected president of this country. He saved us from the depression. He lead us through most of world war 2. World war 2 was nothing like this so called war by bush that is nothing but a grab for oil and hopeful spot for military bases in the middle east.

I do not like all the things FDR did for sure. But trying to be fair, can you imagine being the president of a country like the USA in that era. Talk about pressure. damn.
The USA was trying to recover from the Depression, We had the biggest war the world had seen. I cant imagine how stressed I would have been.

The pearl harbour conspiracy will always be contested due to documents being refused to be released. The war was conducted with brilliance tho not always FDR's brilliance. FDR's problem was his absolute admiration of Joe Stalin & his communal state. FDR's admiration of Stalin easily riveled Hillary Clinton's infatuation when younger with Karl Marx.
