i am a proud guinea pig owner for two ears. i believe that every one should have a guinea pig as a pet. owning a guinea pig is a bit expensive at first.. you need to invest in a good cage that is fairly large. you will run through bedding quickly. food comes in pellet form, but alfalfa hay should be incorporated into their diet, then progress to Timothy hay, after a year. Guinea pigs are social creatures, so it is ideal for you to own two. make sure that they are the same gender.
if you need any more information, please write back, there are soo much to tell. :)

Guinea pigs are wonderful pets. You need to use Aspen or Carefresh for bedding--not cedar and pine is not good either. They drink a lot of water, so you must keep their cage clean and dry. Feed lots of fresh timothy hay and guinea pig pellets. They must have extra Vitamin C every day also. You can add liquid vitamin C (100mg/16 ounces)to the water every day--make sure to keep the water bottle very clean with a bottle brush and clean the sipper tube. Vitamin C does not last long in water, so it must be changed every day. You need to trim their nails regularly as well. They are not really hard to care for, but like any pet they need daily attention and care. You will have an animal that must be cared for for the next 5 or 6 years, even when you are sick or busy and don't feel like taking care of it! Do lots of research about them and show your mom how serious you are. If you are good about taking care of other things at home, maybe you can point that out to your mom and show her how responsible you can be.

Hell yeh!
My friend has a guinea pig and i have a rabbit!
It really simple!
The hardest bit is cleaning out the hutch which is well simple!
All you do is use a shovel and brush and get evrything out!
Then aply a new layer or newspaper with loads of hay ontop( guinea pigs like to burrow under and eat hay)
Then after that just put their food bowl and drink bottle thingo back into the hutch and its done wa lah!

Guinea pigs are very easy to care for. I have 2 of them. As long as their cage is cleaned every week and they always have pellets or hay or fruit and veggies and water they are happy all day. and they don't need to be played with that often either.

1) They dont need much, just a place to sleep, a food bowl, and a water bottle
2) They eat the scraps leftover from ur dinner that you dont know what to do with-veggies like tomatoes, lettuce also jsut your regular guinea pig food
3) They dont need much attention but when you feel like playing with them just take them outside onto the grass in your front yard-they love to nibble on the grass
4) They live pretty long too
Good Luck on your new guinea pig(see im being positive)=]
