i think around 13. and a lot of people here think it's weird that you asked, but it isn't. it's big stuff, and nothing to be ashamed of. the play The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler has a whole collection of stories from women about the first time they got their period. It's very interested and can be found in book or video format.
