Tom Hicks shoudl give up the Rangers? He is ruining the team because he thinks they can win with only good hitting, he won't pay for any good pitching. That's why they're doing bad this season!!

Tom Hicks should give up the Rangers? He is ruining the team because he thinks they can win with only good hitting, he won't pay for any good pitching. That's why they're doing bad this season!! The only semi-good pitching we have are Aki and Gagne, and they're closers, like 2-innings, not a starter who should be able to pitch for 7, now we have NONE of those!!

alot of teams are doing bad this season because of pitching and some of those teams hit alot better than the rangers. SP is tough to come by this season, im sure if they could have gotten better starters they would have. so if you cant have pitching you try to overload on offense.and its not like players are breaking down the door to pitch for the rangers. the reality is that the rangers are not a prestigious team, if you are a good starting free agent pitcher there are probably 20 to 25 other teams you want to play for. They need to develope internally because they are not gonna draw many free agents no matter how much money the rangers offer.(look at clemens, hes from texas but wouldnt be caught dead in a rangers jersey)

Hicks is to blame for hiring doofus John Hart, then keeping Hart on and not giving Grady Fuson the chance he'd been promised, and finally putting Jon Daniels in the GM seat.

Hart was a proven incompetent at acquiring pitching while with Cleveland. Fuson never got the chance to show what he could do. Daniels isn't looking to be all that either. Hitting? Hitting is easy. But as always, the Rangers need pitching, and the sitting GMs (Hart's predecessor Melvin was world-class bad at acquiring or drafting pitchers) for the past two decades have shown no talent for finding any.

he has paid for pitching,,, poor pitching. Chan Ho Park is an example. Way over pay. He has tried to trade for pitchers and we get overrated or just lousy players. he nneds to trade Teixeria for now ready pitching prospects and dont let them get away.

He may not be the best owner, but he's doing a better jib than one of the old owners of the team.
