Why is it that some people can't accept the fact that same-sex couples got married in Massachusetts and stop trying to break the marriages up? They're voting on a referendum in the MA state legislature this week--likely tomorrow--that would permit a vote on a constitutional amendment against same-sex marriage.

I want to be articulate, but all I feel like doing is screaming WHY?!?! Why did my wife and I need our legal status taken away for a few months? Why are people trying so hard just to wreck things for other people? Why can't they work on their own marriages if they're "pro-marriage"?
A horrible woman in our gym tried coming on to my wife. She wanted to break up our marriage 'cause she wanted a hot woman for herself, damn the consequences. I think the "pro-family" activists are even more selfish than she is. They want to take away the legal status, and don't even know *us* to know they hate us.
WHY?

Spot, you have just confirmed the "because they're assholes" theory. Congratulations.

I am also "wife". And we both wear engagement and wedding bands, and we both wore dresses to marry in.
Anger's not good for you, but passivity in the face of blatant prejudice is even worse.

Let's review who's trying to take away whose marriages, shall we? I know no LGBT person who wants to take away mixed-sex couples' legal status or call for a vote on other peoples' marriages. In fact, quite a few gay men make straight weddings prettier, and my wife and I will be co-matrons of honor for a straight couple who met at our wedding later this month. Who's "social engineering", not to mention "heartless", again?

People who push for laws like that are arrogant or self-riotous freedom hating people. People hate me sometimes just because I am the way I am, and thee is nothing I can do about it.
I strongly believe that hate comes from deep within you cant hate someone unless you hate yourself a little too. so the deeper someones hate the deeper they hate them self.
Also people like to point their fingers a lot at other people, because it will cause people to look away from what hey are doing.
So my best advice is to ignore them do what makes you happy. and fight for what you believe, and I mean FIGHT.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that gay marriage is a ridiculous sham. What next, fathers marrying their adult daughters, or mothers marrying their adult sons? Why are incestuous relationships banned in most states, but homosexual relationships are just fine? Does this mean that those breakaway Mormon churches that still practice polygamy will see their stupidity legalized?
Sorry, but if you've decided that marriage no longer means one man and one woman, then you've removed all limitations. After all, isn't the two-person rule discriminatory? Shouldn't we let consenting adults do whatever they wish? You want to let those disease-ridden freaks marry, that's fine; and when plural marriage and incestuous marriage are legalized, we can all have a good laugh at the sick joke this country has become thanks to heartless little social engineers like yourself.

yep this world would be a much happier place if people would worry about themselves. I am a very firm believer in harming none. You and your wife are hurting absolutely nobody. I think that you should be left alone to be happy. If everyone were as happy as you seem to be then maybe there would be hope for "peace on Earth" but too many people presume to be "God" I suppose.

Because Genesis 2:23,24 says: And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh: She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man."
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Two women and two men can never be joined together in marriage in the eyes of God. I don't care what they are doing in Massachusetts, or anywhere else. So, why don't you ask God why, and see what he'll say to you?
I don't hate homesexuals and lesbians, but I don't condone what they're doing, because I beleive that it is a sin. Not the only sin in the world, but still a sin. God created the woman specifically for the man.

:( Im sorry! This really sucks (to put it bluntly) I am not gay, and I think that people should worry about what goes on on there own homes and stop worrying about what others are doing in theirs. Live and let live. People should practice compassion, and stop being so damn judgemental. Especially since I doubt they are perfect. Good luck to you I hope that everything works out for you.

I agree with you 110%.
I don't know why people have to work so hard to take away rights of others like that. I think such people are disgusting. If they want to "focus on the family" they should focus on their own damn family.

*sighs* Another good reason to move to Canada. At least marriage between two consenting adults is legal there.
Good luck on your marriage, sweetheart. Fight for your rights; you're not alone.

Marriage is for man and woman, NOT woman and woman or man and man.
If homosexuals want to form some type of "Contract" such as a partnership contract or something of that nature so they could receive benefits then that would be good. I would be all for that but NOT marriage.
You speak of "your wife". Not being well versed on some things, would you please add to you question and explain what you call yourself. Are you the wife also or do you go by another name? Thanks. Very curious. Also, anger is not good for you. Pops
Thanks for the info, GreenEyedLilo Pops

People are afraid of what is different from them. We should care more about how people treat other people rather than who they choose to marry. Those who believe it's a sin should move on and let God deal with it.
