Here are some legal free mp3 sites. If you're looking for mainstream artists, good luck. The big labels aren't too good at giving anything away. However, you can get a ton of stuff from the artists who are trying to make it. Personally, I think it's better than most of what you hear on the radio.

http://www.download.com - It's a site run by cnet. They claim to have 75,425 free mp3s available. You're bound to find something you like. Also, many of the pages have links to the artist's web sites, where you're liable to find more free tunes. Tak that one step further and go to the artist's record label site. Many of them give away a lot of tracks, as well.

http://www.insound.com - click on the "Free MP3s" link. (Brilliant, huh?) They don't have 75k free ones, but there's some good stuff here.

http://www.artistdirect.com/freemp3s - You can get a handfull of free ones here. Then root around on the artist pages to link to their web sites.

http://www.betterpropaganda.com/ - I'm glad I pulled this one up for you: I found a song I've been looking for....thanks!

Hit these sites and you'll surely find something you like....and you won't have to worry about getting sued.

Best to avoid free sites, there's a high chance you'll pick up a virus. Try Iomoio, I've been using them for 3 years now and never got a virus. Songs are all in high quality bit rate so sound a lot better than the stuff you rip from Youtube. They've got over 3 million tracks with all the latest chart hits. Unbelievably cheap too! Register with the link below and get 2 free downloads to try them out.
