Sometimes even when the baby is calm they are still wrong about the gender. Ultrasound is not a perfect science. And sometimes the baby isn't in a good position to see what is (or isn't) between the legs.
Two ultrasounds in just five weeks seems excessive. The baby is exposed to ultrasound waves every time they do that procedure. Ultrasound should be for medical reason.

As long as the technician said all the measurements were fine, that's all you need to know. It's entirely possible the baby was too active, too closed-legged or facing the wrong way to get a clear look at the gender. If you really want to tell, you can try again in another month and hopefully you'll get a better look.

There is no guarantee that you will see the gender at 20 weeks. My sister was told that her middle son was a girl until she was seven months along. He had his hands over his genitals. Don't let anyone tell you anything is wrong except your doctor. Being worried is only going to increase your stress which is not good for you or the baby. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

Sometimes the baby is just not in a good position so you can tell the sex. My ultrasound tech didn't know what I was having until the 2nd ultrasound after 20 wks. Then after that the baby tended to have her legs open, so it was pretty clear what we were having :)

If there was anything to be worried about i am sure the tech would have told you or your doc would have told you. Your baby just didn't cooperate i guess. At 23 wks and 6 days we found out without a doubt that we are having a girl. Tech said at that point in pregnancy there would definately be a visible scrotum if it was a boy and showed us what looked like to us and him lips of a vagina.

That's not unusual. I actually went to school for ultrasound and we had several walk in's having u/s done. The sex is often the hardest part because not only does the baby move around too much, also the baby crosses their legs. Don't worry about it, as long as the baby is moving you know it's healthy.

Nothing is wrong! They're not going to be able to tell every baby, every time. Sometimes the US are dark and the tech is unable to tell, and with the baby being an active lil thing, it probably made it that more difficult. Don't stress about it, you're halfway there, and you'll get to see your lil one before you know it!

With my experience and finding the gender of my little guy, it all depends on the baby's positioning and the type of ultrasound machine they use. some equipment may be outdated and older than some (i guess that just depends on the doctor you go to). i suggest a "3-d" ultrasound! they're so awesome and you can see your baby in all kinds of detail. Good luck!

I had the same problem at my 20 week ultrasound, and again at a 24 week ultrasound. Sometimes the baby just doesn't want you to know!!
It doesn't mean that anything is wrong, as long as the baby's growth is on track, I would not worry. Sometimes the baby's lie in a strange position so you can't see, other times they cover up they sex with their hand.
One tip i can give is if the heart rate is above 140 it is supposed to be a girl. If the heart rate is below 140 it is supposed to be a boy. Good luck!!
