Here's a photo of a bubble nest: http://www.studiocute.com/bettastuff/images/gooddad.jpg

These are a bunch of bubbles and saliva that are blown by fish like bettas and gouramis. They might be on the side of the tank like the ones in the photo or attached to floating plants or anything else on the surface of the water. Males make them, and after the female lays eggs, he'll pick the eggs off the bottom of the tank and put them into it. After the eggs hatch, the fry will stay in the nest a little while too.

How long it may take for your fish to build one will depend on his age and health. Bettas need warm water (76-80o), so if the water is too cold, you might not see him build one either.

The colors may not mean anything, but just be his natural color. Some fish have a body that's one color and fins of another (called "Cambodian" if the body is a light color and fins are dark), or the color of the body only goes halfway onto the fins (called "butterfly")

If your tank has a filter, your fish may have trouble keeping one together.

Bettas come in many many colors and patterns so the browns and green mean nothing. Bubble nests are groups of bubbles on the waters surface. Breeding depends on the fish. If you plan on breeding bettas, the pair will kill each other if in the same tank for too long.
