I also have my important files backed up to mozy.com. I use firefox and have mcafee siteadvisor and noscript on. Any other useful programs i can use that would help me?

I would say from a technology standpoint you are very well protected. From a human standpoint, you must use good common sense when surfing the internet.

Things, like, don't open emails from unknown people. Scan attachments even from friends, before you open your mail.

Stay away from "SunJavaScript", they are weak with patches for security flaws.

Stay away from P2P, porn, online gaming, and don't use your real name for your email address.

Security techonology will always do it part. The user usually is the one who causes all the trouble, with the practice of non-safe surfing.

If you are asked to give out personal information, to download a file that you want, don't give them your real name, date of birth, or any other personal data. You will have to use your real email address as they usually send you an email to verify that you requested the download.

Webroot Spysweeper is reportedly the top anti-spyware program on the market today. If you will go to the website of
Kim Komando, well known radio show host on computers, you will see that she highly recommends the programs. Also,
don't miss the chance to get a two for one price offer which
you must order from her website.

I have Webroot Spysweeper and I am pleased with it. You
may preset it to run at a given time so you don't have to manually turn it on each day or each week.

You are doing all the right things but you have one hole in your armor. If you haven't cleaned your registry in a while, this is necessary steps. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events has
a key. and that key need your PC's resources. All those defrag files logs and spyware updates are still hogging up your resources. So, if you should clean this up. Do a registry scan if you got more than 20 errors you should clean it.

Hope this helps!

Get a mac. Then take a sledgehammer to your current computer. Send me pictures. I really want to see someone destroy a Windows, and I don't feel like buying one myself. Worthless things. Not even good for burning.

one good way to keep your computer running smoothly is to delete programs that you aren't using anymore and to try to keep a couple of gigs of memory free
