I have been feelings kindof down lately due to a variety of things. So, today I registered for some classes.

I will be taking a Jazzy Jazz Dance Class, Cardio Fitness, Pilates and Tennis Class. I want to find fun ways to keep busy and meet people in the evenings.

I am also attending an Indian Music Concert alone next week and I am looking forward to it.

I do feel a little bit funny taking care of myself, but now realize that if I don't take care of myself I can't take care of anyone else.

My parents are pushing me to take a college course to be mentally busy. I want to enjoy these fitness classes first. In the fall, I can take a college course.

Does anyone else agree or should I wait until all other issues (child custody, permanent job, apartment, etc) are sorted out first?

i think your first priority should be you. You need to take care of you or you will get lost in everything else and wonder what happened to the person i was...Do what makes you happy. life will be so much better if you do. Good Luck!

I think that you need some 'you' time before all of the complications start taking place. Summer is a great time to take classes that you are interested in, and go to concerts and other outings. Fall will come soon enough, then you can take 'regular' college courses, to make your parents happy (hopefully, that's what you want for yourself, too).

Take the summer, at least, before worrying about the custody, job, apartment, etc.--I assume that you are in the process of applying for financial aid--for your fall classes.

You need this time to do things that make you happy--you have a lot to deal with in a couple of months--feel good for now.

Good luck :)

Your parents probably want you to take some college courses because they could help you in the long run. But you have to take care of you the best way that you know how and it taking the fitness classes helps you to deal with the stress of the situation right now than maybe that's what 's best for you. You will need to find away of dealing with the stress the best way that you can. And keeping physically fit it one of the best ways to deal with that. Keeping fit will also help keep you mentally sharp and if you can do that, that will also help you deal with the stress. I wish you good luck.

You know, I was with you up to the last statement. Those are heavy things. I think you need to talk to someone, like a therapist, because it looks like more is going on and you may be feeling overwhelmed.
