Okay, about half the people I asked about Yasmin love it and half of them hate it because it's a birth control pill and apparently a "bratz" doll. I am still debating it, but I also have a couple other names I like, such as Amina,
If you don't like anything I've come up with so far, please list your own ideas, and yes, the child will be African American so any names reflecting this, or Arabic names are welcome.

Both Yasmin and Amina are good. There is a very good website about baby names http://www.babynamesworld.com/ That's what it's called. Go try it. It has over 19000 baby names. Seriously. If u browse by origin, all u have to do is select African names and a list of African names from A to Z comes out. Good luck!

I like Yasmin. As for being a bratz doll and the rest of it, these days there is no name you can pick that isn't associated with something else.

I think Yasmin is a beautiful name, like this spelling better than Jasmine or Jazmin. A friend of mine is called Jasminka, in case you like it. I also think Amina is very pretty.

My aunt is 15 and her name is laraina( la RAY na) it means queen I also like Aubrey or Aburiannia ( aub ree anna) or clarissia is nice I really liked Yasmin though. Amina not so much

I like Yasmin a lot! It has an exotic feel, but isn't too out there. Amina sounds like Amoeba to me... I don't like it. I think that Amaya is pretty!
